Is it dry erase safe?

We do not recommend writing on the interactive whiteboard surface as it is specially designed for interactions. However, we have found customers using high quality expo dry-erase markers with no issues as long as they erase/clean the board after each use.

Am I buying a 79 inch television for $1321.60?

No. The board does not have a means of its own to show an image. It is dependent on a projector to show the image onto its surface. Without a projector, you cannot see anything from your computer on the board.

How does the board work? What do I need besides the Starboard FX-79E2?

You will need a computer and a projector. The way this works is the board will mirror your computer it not only makes the image larger, but also interactive. Anything you do on the board, you will see on your computer screen because they communicate with each other. The computer sends its signal to the projector, which shines it onto the whiteboard. Think of it as one big loop. You > board > computer > projector > repeat. We also have several great packages available that will include both the Starboard FX-79E2 and a projector. Touch sensitive means that you can write on the board using your finger. You can also use your finger as a mouse. For example, if you had an Internet browser open, you could touch the back button on the board, and the Internet would go back a page.

What is the difference between the FX-79E2, and the previous FX-Trio series?

The new Starboard FX-79E2 uses the same, powerful software as its predecessor, the FX-Trio. However, the FX-79E2 is thinner, lighter, dry erase friendly, and is faster. The new Starboard FX-79E2 is also magnetic.

Yes. There is no circuitry inside the Starboard FX-79E2, so you can literally put bullets through the board and it will still work. If a student were to pierce the surface with a pen, it is not a problem the board will still work flawlessly.
