SB680 is good!

The Smarboard SB680 is a great touchboard. the multi-touch interface is very accurate and quick, easy to calibrate, and the bundled software is liked very much by the teachers. the one issue we have with it is the touch element on the board goes out of calibration routinely once a month.. not sure if it is a bg in the software, but hopefully Smart can fix it.

anyways.. this board is ideal with middle school and high school. if this is for elementary school or pre-school, i would recommedn another brand such as Hitachi starboard instead, sicne the touchboard itself is inert and can sustain more damage and abuse and continue to fucntion. the SB680 is more for those who will not abuse the board.

The Smartboard is an overall good piece of technology to promote interactive lessons but I'd honestly go the extra dollar for the Eno Board. Smartboard doesn't allow for writing on the board for use of a whiteboard therefore takes up a large amount of space.

The Sub

I have found that as a sub, they do not let us "play" with these as often as they should because they are a wonderful tool in helping students learn, and it can be both a little embarrassing and adorable having the students teach you how to use a Smart board. It is wonderful during math when they all want to come up to the Smart board to write upon it since they pay better attention in these lessons. Finding games for math and LA is fun as well since the kids get more involved than me handing out worksheets or pointing to pages in a book to work from. So, when I do get to use a Smart board, it is a rare treat!

I think the smartboard is amazing! I've used it as part of a math class! It works pretty well, but does have a few quirks at times. The pens work great, but occasionally are a bit of trouble. I think this is very useful in the classroom. Children will be drawn to the different colors and different line types. The idea is pretty revolutionary.

I like using the smart board. There are so many features to it and I love learning new things about it. The smart board seems to be very convenient in teaching a lesson, especially in math. The kids love to go to the board and work out their math problems. They seem to know how to use it better than the teacher. I need a little more work, but I love learning how to use it!
