The SMART Board SB885ix2-SMP interactive whiteboard system combines the use of a SMART Board 885 interactive whiteboard, a SMART UX80 projector, and other accessories and optional equipment. It uses the WXGA (16:10) ultra-short-throw, high-offset SMART UX80 projector and delivers high definition, 3D-ready high performance interactivity that is virtually shadow-free and glare-free. Four users can draw on the interactive surface at the same time, and you can use an array of gestures within applications.

Multitouch experience - Hands-on collaboration

As a powerful, multitouch interactive whiteboard, up to four users can now collaborate with business content anywhere on the interactive surface. Each user can use a finger or a pen to simultaneously write or draw with a pen, erase with a palm and manipulate objects in SMART Notebook™ collaborative learning software.

Users can enable collaboration instantly with no special tools or menus required – students can simply walk up to the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and immediately begin working together. The interactive whiteboard doesn’t have restricted user areas or a separate multiuser mode, so collaborative opportunities are always at your fingertips.

Business meetings are interactive and engaging with the 885ix2.The magical touch experience of the 885ix2 means that users can interact with business topics and multimedia quickly and easily – without having to access on-screen menus.
 
Use simple, intuitive hand and finger gestures to interact with your content. The touch gesture capabilities of the 885ix2 makes it easy for you to toss, rotate or zoom in on lesson content, or control applications in Windows® 7 or Snow Leopard operating systems. A user can also independently write with a pen, erase with a palm or move objects with a finger – there’s no need to access on-screen menus.

 

Featuring the SMART UX80 ultra short throw projector

The all new SMART UX80 ultra-short-throw projector is HD-ready and provides 3,600 lumens for classrooms with high ambient lighting, and an ultra-short throw distance that virtually eliminates shadows and glare.

The extended control panel provides easy access to all audiovisual products in the classroom and enables teachers to switch between inputs and access power and volume controls from one location. The projector is mounted directly above the interactive whiteboard for simple installation, and the swivel projector mount makes alignment easier. And its long-lasting lamp and filter-free design reduce maintenance costs.
 

The projector supports video and audio connections from a variety of devices including DVD and Blu-ray players, document cameras, and other high-definition sources, and can project media from these sources onto the interactive screen. All HDMI 1.4 inputs are HDCP compliant. The UX80 offers 2 HDMI inputs, an integrated speaker, and the ability to control 2 displays simultaneously. The UX80 comes with the widescreen SMART Board 885ix interactive whiteboard system.

Network-enabled
Connect the SMART UX80 projector to your school’s IP network to send and receive commands to and from the web server or SNMP client. As a networked interactive whiteboard system, the 885ix2 has asset management features that enable you to control and manage the projector remotely. The UX80 is also certified for use with Crestron RoomView™ management software.

Freestyle interaction – Expanding the boundaries of learning with the SB885ix2-SMP

The system enables four users to instantly start working together without having to switch into a separate multi-user mode or work in a confined area. And each user can individually complete actions, like writing in digital ink or moving objects with their fingers.
 

Object awareness – Making it easy to interact

The technology is virtually invisible. The 885ix2 uses cameras to identify when a user switches between using a finger, pen and eraser. A user can also write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger, without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray.
