Good for video just ok for scanning documents

Caveat- we are trying to use this to scan materials and have been a bit frustrated with the lack of options within the software. We can't seem to get a resolution option for images just options for "Excellent or Good". We need to capture in a TIFF file format and want the highest resolution possible with the ability to somewhat alter the color/lighting for the image. This is only possible in the FlexView option but it seems to capture a somewhat lower resolution compared to a jpg. capture in the FlexCap option (you can only do jpgs in FlexCap). Logically an excellent TIFF should be a better resolution than a jpg. so I'm not certain what is happening. I bought it over the HoverCam T5 because it had a better resolution camera but I'm not sure it actually is better for our purposes.
