The HoverCam T5 Scanner and Document Camera is a high resolution camera equipped with a 5 megapixel HD CMOS Active Pixel Digital Image Sensor perfect for scanning documents and books. Adding to the versatility of the T5, this model may also be used as a document camera. The T5 is lightweight at 1.8 pounds and requires a minimum space with its small footprint of 4” x 5” oval base. Constructed from aluminum and with a satin finish, the T5 is durable as well as sleek modern look.
Scan photos, books, documents and oversized artwork with incredible detail. The cost-effective HoverCam T5 makes it easy with its native 300 dpi and up to 1200 dpi enhanced clarity. The T5's sensor is 1/2.5" in size. It is one of the largest CMOS sensors on the market. The bigger the sensor, the better the image it creates. You can expect superb image quality from the HoverCam T5, often better than document cameras twice as much. The HoverCam Flex software which is included with the T5 includes the ability to zoom with the turn of the mouse-wheel. Further, cropping to scan a detail is as easy as clicking and dragging. Brightness, saturation, contrast and other settings can be adjusted to give you the optimal results.
Some users need a dedicated scanner for large detailed images. If you want to capture large documents or books at the highest quality, the T5 is for you. Business professionals, medical offices and librarians agree that the T5 is simple, affordable and convenient.
As many of you have heard, the Hovercam has made some big waves in the document camera industry. To be honest, it is unprecedented in what they have done. They have brought a camera around 200 dollars to the market place that competes with units on the market costing well over $500. Companies are now scrambling to make units that look like the Hovercam. Here at Touchboards we don't want to see you get duped. Don't be fooled by imposters!
Although companies can copy the outer shell, there are electronics sensors (which are different) and digital imaging processes (including patent pending processes) that they use to make the HoverCam image very clear. We obviously can't mention these patent applications publicly, but we just wanted to make sure we inform our customers that we are selling quality cameras at a fair cost. The "shell" is a simple mold made in China. This mold factory will sell that mold to other companies so you might see units that appear similar (in fact almost identical in some cases.) It is the quality components inside the Hovercam that counts, as well as the powerful Flex software.
The HoverCam software development team is here in the U.S. and they are continually updating and upgrading the software based on customer requests and inputs. As authorized Hovercam dealers Touchboards can offer this software for free and you can download the "latest and greatest" when the updated versions are released. Their software engineers are based here and we work closely with them as we pass along feedback from teachers and presenters. Also, the tech support is based here in the US and they are top notch. Warranty support is great too.
Six LED Lights.
The HoverCam T5 provides its own lighting.
The LED lights do not require expensive bulbs that need replacement every few months.
In addition, the HoverCam Flex software tends to compensate for most low light conditions.
Kensington Lock Slot.
Given the small size of the HoverCam T5, we have provided a theft deterrent in the form of a Kensington Lock slot.
A Kensington Locks are convenient and easy to use. Simply attach it to your HoverCam and wrap the cord around
permanent fixture, such as a large desk. It thwarts would-be thieves much in the same way a bicycle lock does.
Locks are secured in place with a key or combination lock attached to a rubber / metal cable. When you need to take
your HoverCam with you, simply unlock it and you are on your way.
Cloud integration means you can access your HoverCam library anywhere. A teacher could record her lessons – both video and audio – and at the conclusion of class, upload the video files to one of our many integrated cloud solutions, including EverNote and DropBox. At that point, she could share the file with students who happen to be absent that day. She could save the lesson and replay it the next time she needs to teach the same class again. She could use the cloud to share lessons with substitute teachers when she has to skip a day. How will you use the cloud?
So in summation, yes you may be able to get a slightly cheaper "knock off" version but we can assure you the real Hovercam is worth the cost. It will offer a better picture, great software that that is easy to use, and the best service based here in the US.
