The standard warranty is 1 year. Schools that register their unit receive a 2nd year free of charge. Extended warranties and product insurance are available as an option.

The software is the same for all HoverCam document cameras. Therefore, there is no difference in software features between the T3 and Kudos. On the other hand, Kudos includes a 2nd camera that may be used as a webcam and also to display and record picture-in-picture. The Kudos costs $259, so in essence you get a webcam for an additional $40.

The T5 does have the highest resolution (5-megapixels); however, the T5 does not include a microphone and the refresh rate is slower. Therefore, for most classroom users, the T3 ($219) or the Kudos ($259) is the best choice.

The HoverCam doesn’t have optical zoom. Optical zoom is useful for some science classes to zoom in very closely. However, the HoverCam incorporates a 16X digital zoom, which is very smooth and clear, incorporating a patent-pending process. The HoverCam’s zooming capability is quite good for the 95% of teachers who would like to use a document camera in English, math, social studies, foreign languages, trades, K-6 and administrators.

LED lights are expected to last 5 years or longer. Note, the HoverCam camera sensor is high quality and works well even in low lighting conditions (another HoverCam advantage). You only need to use the light if the room is totally black.

Yes. The software license allows you to install HoverCam Flex software on all the computers in a classroom or in a school. (Please note: The software will only work when a HoverCam is connected to the computer.) In addition, the company can provide an MSI installation package for larger network installations.
