HoverCam
5.0
The HoverCam worked as advertised. It was easy to install and use, has great portability, and the images are as advertised. The base is a little awkward, but other than that, I have enjoyed using it.

Excellent for the price
4.0
This is a nice doc cam, espeically for the price! I love it's portability, that it doesn't take up much space, and the option to scan and edit, show real time video, and video record. The quality is very nice. I also appreciate the flexibility in the arm, so I can tilt the camera in various directions. This helps when I'm trying to elimate glare from the room lighting.
The only thing I'd like to change is that I'd like the option to make the visual on the computer take up most or all of the screen. I do online therapy and share documents or games via this doc cam, so when I share this with my client it does not just share the docuemnt it shares all the blank space (and things the client does not need to see) shown on my computer screen too. This means that some items become very small

nice portable document camera
4.0
This is a nice way to bring a document camera on the road.
It includes software which allows the camera to capture stills or act as a video camera.
I have traveled with it when do training sessions.
The software takes a few minutes to set up. I was using a older notebook with Windows 7, so the installation took longer than I wanted. But when set up, it has been very useful!
The cords and design makes it stable for such a small device.

Dept Chair Computer Science
5.0
This is a great little camera with no media to loose, all the software is right in the camera. The quality of the camera is top notch and simple to use. Students have written software that has turned this camera into a great tool in out classrooms. Best of all is its size making it attractive for everyone to see.

Great Product Concept has Durability Issues
1.0
Minicam5 is a great idea, and it performs as described, BUT the first one I got toppled over and came apart at the weak point where the USB connection pivots. The wires were still active but I couldn't refold the camera. I contacted them, and I was quite promptly sent a replacement. The replacement worked for a bit and then seemed fussy and finally de-programmed itself entirely, so that although it gets power, it no longer loads and will not scan. I have spoken with customer service and filed a support request but have not gotten another return label as of this date, meaning I have been unable to use this product for my project for several weeks.
Response from touchboards: We have replaced this unit free of charge. We have thousands of these working flawlessly for road warriors

Great camera
5.0
My new Mini-5 works great, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. I like it so much I bought another one for my son for Christmas. I find it extremely versatile. I investigate machinery failures. It performs great as a field low power microscope. It makes discussion of what is seen with others very productive.

Top notch camera at a fair price!
5.0
...Just wanted to take a minute and let you guys know how much I love the Mini. It is everything I had hoped it would be in a product. I have been on the road a lot and have been using it to turn documents around for signature, capture information and images that were too bulky to carry around, scan my notes and import into Evernote so I can pull on my PC, smartphone or tablet. In general this is one happy road warrior.

Mini5 hovercam, swiss army knife of doc cameras
5.0
Scanners don't typically rank high atop most people's list of cool tech toys. But the new HoverCam Mini 5 that I've been reviewing is cool, at least for people whose offices tend to move with them.
Right from the get-go, it's apparent that the $249 Mini is different. It doesn't resemble your typical scanner, portable or otherwise. Mini 5 comes from a San Diego company called Pathway Innovations & Technologies, which refers to it as the Swiss army knife of document cameras. It's an apt description.
Unlike your average scanner, the Mini is small enough, and at about a third of a pound, light enough to fit into your pocket. (Yes, I know there are apps that can turn your smartphone into a scanner.)
Nor does your ordinary scanner fold down into a .75-inch-by-1.25-inch-by-7-inch candy
