About the size of a board eraser and lighter than a box of chalk, the eBeam Edge for Education USB is the most fully-featured mobile interactive whiteboard system on the market. With the Edge for Education you can navigate within, annotate on top of, and capture sections of your favorite websites and familiar applications using the eBeam stylus. Further expand your classroom’s interactive capabilities with complementary eBeam products that are fully integrated with the Edge for Education. Furthermore, it works with standard projectors and both Windows® and Macintosh® computers. It integrates seamlessly with your existing applications and, for a fraction of the cost of fixed systems, provides all the interactive features for which you’d expect to pay much more. The eBeam Edge for Education enlivens classrooms and helps you put down the chalk and pick up the future to transform existing classroom whiteboards and walls into interactive teaching spaces.
What is capture?

I have this question too (0)
Capture allows you to write on the board with markers and be able to save what you write to a file. With the eBeam it also means the remote computers can view your notes in real time.

To use the capture function do I need a projector?
No, a projector is not required. You just need a board, the ebeam with capture and a marker.
I am looking for something to make my marker board interactive, Is this the right product?
Yes it is, actually you have a few choices This is available with and without capture and wireless, or wired.
Do I need a projector to use the board interactively.
Yes you do, the projector will act like a remote monitor and display whatever is on your computer. You can then use the Stylus like a mouse to open files or programs, or a pen to make notes with. Switching between functions is very easy.
Can I write in different colors.
Yes there are marker sleaves which tell the system what color you are writing in.

I am not using it as a smart board. On great thing is that you can not only capture what you are doing as an image, but it can save it so you can continue later. You can even make a movie as you go which I am doing now and is VERY useful. This also allows you to have meetings with people over the internet and they can see and interact with your work. Worth every penny. This has been replaced with a new set.
