Datamation DS-ES-U4E-S 4-Port USB-Over-IP Device
- Charge & Sync for USB devices via GigaBit Ethernet connection
- 4 USB 2.0 ports
- Cambrionix very intelligent charging protocol charging
EtherSync provides multiple USB connections that can be used for iPads, iPhones, tablets, smartphones, and cameras – virtually any USB device.
Connect to USB devices via standard Ethernet
The Datamation DS-ES-U4E-S is a 4-port USB-over-IP device pre-loaded with administration and connection management software. Combined with the desktop utility software, this lets you locate, use and manage multiple USB-connected devices via Apple Configurator, iTunes or other third-party mobile device management software.
A cart plugged into a port on an EtherSync can be seen and controlled just as if it were connected to a local computer. Each EtherSync allows you to connect to USB devices via standard Ethernet cabling running standard TCP/IP protocols. The EtherSync itself has four powered USB ports configurations and can provide direct connections to up to 42 devices through connected hub or carts.
The Datamation DS-ES-U4E-S 4-port USB-over-IP device includes a 1-year warranty.
Remote management applications
There are many applications wherever it is convenient to provide remote management and provisioning of mobile devices, especially when those devices are not all in environments with sufficiently robust wireless networks or when there are security concerns that prefer a wired connection.
Remote management can have great value in schools (where an IT director can update or support devices in multiple classrooms or schools without localhost). Carts equipped or retrofitted with EtherSync can be managed through a simple IP drop connection.
Other applications include healthcare, retail, hospitality, virtually any environment in which security, safety, and efficiency can take advantage of remote, centralized management of devices on a secure wired network. It also has applications in a kiosk and digital signage applications where mobile devices can be connected to an IP drop but where it is inconvenient or too expensive to provide a host computer connection.
Service depots supporting the deployment or repair of devices can use EtherSync for OS updates and deployment of files or applications that would stress a wireless network or create security concerns.
Manage tablet content and function from anywhere
EtherSync enables the remote management of tablets using existing familiar tools such as iTunes™, Configurator, and Android equivalents. It helps you easily set up LAN and WAN management of USB-connected device deployments.
Move tablet management to the IT department
EtherSync can be used where having a Mac or PC local to the USB devices is just not practical: public areas, school classrooms, restaurants, retail environments, nursing stations, kiosks and more.
Secure
Using the EtherSync, you can use secure Ethernet connections to manage remote USB devices, much easier than wifi and less prone to hacking. Ethernet management also is less taxing on available wireless networks.
Large scale deployments
Each EtherSync has dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing easy daisy-chaining without an additional hub or network port. And EtherSync is designed for large scale deployments such as those done by schools or districts with multiple carts, retailers with mobile devices in stores and hospitality organizations with tablets at tables or for ordering. Each EtherSync can control up to 42 USB devices and 500 or more EtherSyncs can be connected to a network and remotely managed from a single location.
Retrofit to existing systems
EtherSyncs can be used with existing tablet management systems (such as mobile carts and syncing hubs), so you can set up remote management quickly, easily and securely.
Safety
EtherSync is designed in the UK and sold by Datamation Systems, it is UL listed and CE tested to EN60950.
