2-Port DVI Dual Link/Audio Splitter

The Aten VS172 2-Port DVI Dual Link Splitter with Audio combines DVI quality video and audio, taking signals from an audio/ video source and replicating them to two audio/video outputs. This video splitter uses dual link technology, which offers high bandwidth capacity for added transmission power and faster refresh rates, thereby providing better video quality of viewing resolutions up to 2560 x 1600.

The built-in bi-directional RS-232 port on the rear panel allows the splitter to be controlled through a Control Unit, PC, and/or home automation/home theater software package for complete system integration.

The VS172 support three types of EDID modes: • Port 1: The source uses the EDID of the monitor connected to port 1 • Auto: Polls the EDID of all attached monitors and uses the best common settings, this ensures all monitors will display video • Default: Implements ATEN''s default EDID

Max distance is 11.8M [38Ft] total,not to exceed the following restrictions: • Source to VS172: 1.8 m [6ft] • VS172 to VS172: 5 m [16ft] • VS172 to display: 5 m [16ft]

Maximum resolutions supported are 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz [Dual Link] and 1920 x 1080 @60Hz [Single Link].

DVI Dual Link is very high video resolution - 2560 * 1,600 @ 60 Hz. Note: To support Dual link resolution you will need Dual Link video cables [see attached diagram] and a Dual Link monitor. A single link monitor may be used in a dual link installation, but the resolution will be single link. A Dual Link monitor cannot be used in a single link installation

The RS232 software does not start, how do I resolve this problem?

The error code is associated with the serial port connection, please verify the following: - Do you have an unused COM port available on your computer? - Are there any resources accessing the Com port? - Do you have an Antivirus that may be blocking use of the Serial port connection? -> You might have to disable or uninstall the antivirus for testing.
