Dry Erase Boards
Dry erase boards are available in many different styles and sizes, ranging from porcelain steel to solid glass. From the locker room to the board room, Touchboards carries the product needed for your situation.
There are a number of variables to consider in purchasing a dry erase board.
First is the type of surface required. On lower grade surfaces, dry erase markers can leave a residue over time, commonly referred to as “ghosting”. This unsightly problem can be difficult to remove and may necessitate a board’s untimely replacement. However, other surfaces, such as porcelain steel and glass, are much more durable and are resistant to the issue. They can be written on regularly and are also easily cleaned. A high quality board can provide years of service, while still maintaining a very nice appearance. There are also matte surfaces specially designed to double as projection screens. While most boards are glossy, this matte surface helps to reduce glare from the projector’s lamp.
The next variable would be size. Boards range from small to large, and everywhere in between, however, 4 x 6 and 4 x 8 (height x width) are very popular and a good size for general use.
There are also several types of trim. Choices include aluminum, several types of wood, as well as no trim at all. Aluminum trim is very durable and is one of the most common selections.
A number of boards are also on rolling stands. If you need something on wheels that can be taken to different parts of a building, there are several options for you. Mobile boards are designed to be sturdy, with wide wheel bases to prevent tipping over.
