Because the VM0404H can''t provide enough power for VE873,please connect the VE873 transmitter unit of USB connector to device or power adapter to get enough power for VE873.

If one of the HDMI source devices is powered off, the VM0404H will automatically switch to the next powered on device.

The VM0404H support three types of EDID modes: Port1: The EDID from the display connected to port 1 (or the smallest port number) is passed to the video source. Remix: Applies a mix of EDIDs from connected displays and uses lowest common parameters supported by all the attached monitors Default: The ATEN default EDID is passed to all video sources. The screens will display stock prices and we need to switch the inputs in each 5 seconds. Is the transition from input A to input B seamless, or will it include some delay or blank screen? If so, how much time will the screen spend showing blank screen? We plan to use the serial port to control the VM0404H. Response time almost decides on different HDMI sources. Supposedly, there is no VM0404H in the scenario and we hot plug/unplug one HDMI player into Monitor with HDMI interface. How much response time is needed? Around 7 ~ 10 seconds response time when we see the display shown in the Monitor. In the same way, VM0404H is a HDMI video matrix switch and a response time is obvious and necessary. It is not mainly caused from VM0404H. In our experience, Philips HDMI media player and Sony PS3 need 7 seconds when we do the source selection with the same monitor. Its response time is close to HDMI hot plug/unplug behavior.

The error code is associated with the serial port connection, please verify the following: - Do you have an unused COM port available on your computer? - Are there any resources accessing the Com port? - Do you have an Antivirus that may be blocking use of the Serial port connection? -> You might have to disable or uninstall the antivirus for testing.

ATEN VM0404H Supports Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio, that is to say, we do support 7.1 channel.

If your particular ATEN device supports "normal" RS232 ASCII commands, it should be able to support commands in Hex format as below: Example: Switch input 1 to output 7 ASCII: sw i01 o07 -->Transform ASCII command to Hex format: HEX: 0x73 0x77 0x20 0x69 0x30 0x31 0x20 0x6f 0x30 0x37 0x0d 0x0a In order to send the command you need to add CRLF characters (0x0d 0x0a) after each command.
