HDMI Optical Extender

The VE882 is an Optical HDMI Extender that overcomes the length restriction of standard HDMI cables by using optical fiber to send high definition audio and video signals over large distances.

The VE882 accepts an audio-video stream from a local source and serializes the data to pass it over a single 3.125 Gbps optical link (for resolutions up to 1080p@60Hz at 24-bits).

The VE882 can also extend the IR remote control and transfer RS-232 (up to 115kbps) in both directions, allows you to connect serial devices such as touch screens and barcode scanners.

Will the VE882 work with Multi-Mode Fiber?

The VE882 will work with OM3 Multi-Mode fiber. However, transmission distance is limited to 300 m [980ft] .

Why I cannot see the light through the fiber?

Single mode LC fiber will have a wavelength around 1400nm (Infrared) whereas a typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm. In other words the light coming from the fiber will be invisible for human eye. To test a fiber you will need a specific tool call VFL (Visual Fault Locator).

What is the Full range IR Spec. frequency?

It support 30K ~ 60KHz, however IR receiver cable provided in the box supports 30K ~ 56KHz. If your device request the IR frequency on 57K ~ 60KHz, please purchase another IR receiver cable to support it.
