The ATEN VC010 is a VGA EDID Emulator, which is designed to emulate and store the EDID of a video display, providing constant and reliable EDID data for the a VGA source device to efficiently optimize video resolution.

The ATEN VGA EDID Emulator is a convenient tool that ensures smooth viewing experience for any video installation. The EDID Emulator provides three flexible methods for selecting and switching between EDID Modes: Default Mode, Programming Mode, and Learning Mode. It comes with an easy-to-use EDID Wizard that allows users to quickly view, store and manage EDID settings.

Will setting a wrong resolution harm my monitor ?

If "Load EDID from File" sets the wrong resolution it will not harm your monitor. Indications of incorrect EDID settings include some or all of the following: No video, blinking, shifted, over sized, or fuzzy images Unless you understand the EDID protocol and have a compelling reason to use the EDID wizard we strongly recommend using either "ATEN Default EDID", or "Retrieve EDID from Display" EDID Wizard will not install on Windows 8 with error message "NET Framework 2.0 uninstall" Enable NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel \ Programs and Feature \ Turn Windows features on or off (see attached picture) then the EDID Wizard will install

What is the maximum cable length between the EDID emulator and the monitor ?

EDID emulators do not include an extension feature, so we recommend using the standard cable length of 1.8 meter [6ft].

Verify your connections - Please see attached diagram The source should be connected on the front port [Video in], and the monitor to the rear port [Video out]

Can I set-up a custom resolution such as 1919 x 1080 ?

You can use "Retrieve EDID from Display" to set a custom resolution - if and only if - your monitor supports that particular resolution.
